# How TechAngels selects startups | TechAngels

> How TechAngels decides which startups reach its member investors: screening, analysis and pitch selection, explained.

## Screening

Every application is checked against the [four criteria](/founders/criteria/). Most rejections happen here, and the most common reasons are fixable: too early (no prototype), unclear market, or a round size outside the €10,000–200,000 ticket range.

## Analysis

Startups that pass screening are analyzed in more depth: product and technology, traction and unit economics, competition, team background and the terms being asked. This is where a clean data room and an honest deck make the difference.

## Selection for the network

The strongest startups are distributed to the member network and invited to pitch at member meetings. From there it's the members' individual decision: TechAngels curates the funnel, but every angel invests their own money on their own judgment.
